What MyPlots is good at
MyPlots is a discovery marketplace. Events are public listings, sorted by what is happening near you soonest, with artist pages for the people who play them. If you are putting on an artist after-party or a show that lives or dies on walk-up ticket sales from people who have never heard of you, that feed is the point. It is built for scale and for being found.
Hosting is free, free tickets have no fees, and the QR pass lives in the attendee's app and gets scanned at the door. For a public show, that is a complete toolkit.
Where the models differ
Mesibash is the opposite shape. There is no feed. Every event is reached by a link or a six-character code the host shares with their own people, and the address goes only to ticket holders, close to the event. Hosts can require approval, so a guest requests a spot and pays only after the host says yes. It is built for the party where who is in the room is the whole product.
The fee math follows the model. On MyPlots a $15 ticket costs the attendee $19.00: the host's $15 plus 20% plus $1.00. On Mesibash the same ticket costs $16.05, the host's $15 plus 5% plus $0.30, and the host receives $15.00. At a $50 price the gap is $61.00 against $52.80. Neither platform charges the host to list.
Refunds and who holds the money
MyPlots' terms say that unless an organizer specifies otherwise, all ticket sales are final, and that refunds are the organizer's call and the organizer's cost. If a buyer disputes a charge with their bank, the organizer also covers the processor's dispute fee, currently fifteen dollars per dispute. As a guest, that means your refund depends on the host's policy; as a host, it means a cancelled night is yours to unwind.
On Mesibash the money is held until the night happens. Payouts release about 3 days after the event, the processing fee is disclosed as non-refundable before purchase, and if a host cancels, guests get everything but that fee back without asking. That delay is a trust feature. It is why a guest feels fine putting a card into an invite link.
Who should pick which
Pick MyPlots if you are promoting a public show and want strangers to find it: artist events, venue nights, anything where the feed brings the crowd.
Pick Mesibash if the crowd already follows you and you want it to stay your crowd: house parties, venue takeovers, birthdays with a cover, anything invite-only where you want a controlled door, a gated address, and the price you set landing in your account.
Frequently asked questions
Is MyPlots free for hosts?
Yes. MyPlots says it is free to host events, and RSVPs and free tickets have no fees. On paid tickets a processing fee of 20% plus $1.00 per ticket is added to the attendee's total (verified October 14, 2026). Mesibash is also free to host; its guest-side fee is 5% plus $0.30.
What does a $15 MyPlots ticket cost the buyer?
About $19.00: the $15 the host set, plus 20% ($3.00), plus $1.00. The same $15 ticket on Mesibash costs $16.05, and in both cases the host receives $15.00.
Can I get a refund on MyPlots?
It depends on the organizer. MyPlots' terms say all ticket sales are final unless the organizer specifies otherwise, and the organizer decides and funds any refund. Check the event's policy before you buy. On Mesibash, a cancelled event refunds everything except the disclosed processing fee automatically.
Is Mesibash a MyPlots alternative for house parties?
For an invite-only party, yes. Mesibash has no public feed: guests arrive by your link or code, the address is revealed to ticket holders close to the event, you can approve each guest before they pay, and the door runs on one-time QR codes. If you want strangers to discover the event, MyPlots' marketplace is the better fit.
