Mesibash figures are exact and come from the same code that runs checkout. Eventbrite and MyPlots figures are computed from their published formulas; their checkout may round a cent differently. Multi-ticket orders on Eventbrite pay processing once per order.
You set $15. You get $15.
Hosting on Mesibash is free. When you charge, the price you set is the price that lands in your account. The guest adds a small processing fee at checkout, 5% plus $0.30, and sees it before they pay. At party prices the flat part of a fee is what matters: a dollar or two on a $15 cover is a real share of the ticket, which is why ours is 30 cents.
Payouts arrive about 3 days after the event. That delay is on purpose. Guests are buying a ticket to a night that has not happened yet, and holding the money until it does is what makes a card feel safe on an invite link from someone they only half know. It is a trust feature, and it is why guests buy.
The big platforms are the right tool for some events. If you are selling hundreds of tickets to the public, need a discovery audience, or run a conference with a badge desk, Eventbrite earns its fee. We wrote up when Eventbrite is the right call and when it is not. For a house party or a venue takeover for your own crowd, the math above is the whole story.
Frequently asked questions
How is the Mesibash fee calculated?
You set the ticket price and that is what you receive. The guest pays your price plus 5% plus $0.30 at checkout. On a $15 ticket the guest pays $16.05 and you receive $15.00. Free tickets have no fee at all.
Do hosts pay anything on Mesibash?
No. There is no subscription, no listing fee, and no charge to create or publish an event. The only fee on the platform is the small processing fee the guest pays on a paid ticket, and it is shown before they buy. Payouts arrive about 3 days after the event through Stripe.
Can I pass fees to guests on Eventbrite?
Yes. Eventbrite charges buyers by default (a 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, plus 2.9% processing on the order total), and you can choose to absorb the fees when you set up ticket types. Use the toggle in the calculator to see what you net either way. Figures use Eventbrite's published US formula as verified on October 14, 2026.
Why are party-app fees so different?
Most of the difference is the fixed part of the fee. A flat $1.79 or $1.00 is a rounding error on a $200 conference pass and a big share of a $15 cover. Percentages vary too: on a $15 ticket a guest pays about $17.85 on Eventbrite, $19.00 on MyPlots, and $16.05 on Mesibash, with the host receiving $15.00 in each case when fees are passed to the guest.
