Why we founded Mesibash: real moments in an age of artificial everything

We founded Mesibash to help people create beautiful moments together — in real life. That's the whole idea. Everything else about the platform follows from it.

We're a father and a son, and this project started the way most of our projects start: as a conversation between us. This one kept coming back. We'd talk about how everyone we know — friends, classmates, colleagues — spends hours a day watching other people's lives on a screen, and how rarely anything actually happens. Not for lack of wanting to. People want to get together. Someone just has to make it happen, and making it happen is more annoying than it should be.

Two generations, same conclusion

We see this from opposite ends of the timeline.

One of us has spent decades building software companies, and learned along the way that the moments that actually mattered — in work and in life — happened in rooms, not inboxes. The other is in high school, in the first generation that has never known a world without feeds, and can see exactly what they cost: hours of every day, traded for content that leaves nothing behind.

And lately the feeds aren't even us anymore. More and more of what we scroll past is generated — AI faces, AI videos, moments that never happened to anyone. We're not interested in arguing with the algorithm. We just think the answer is simpler: give people something better to do than scroll.

What can't be generated

Here's the thing we keep coming back to: when anything can be generated, the things that can't be become the precious ones. A long table in a backyard on a Sunday afternoon. A crowded rooftop at sundown. Your friends showing up at the door. A toast, a conversation that goes too late. The photo from that day matters because you were there — not because it was rendered.

Every one of those gatherings exists because someone decided to make it happen. We think those people are quiet heroes, and we noticed that the tools available to them were either expensive, complicated, or built for someone else. Every clumsy step between "we should do something" and "doors open" is a gathering that never happens.

So we built Mesibash differently

We knew we weren't the first to build an event platform. There are plenty. But when we looked at them the way a host does — someone with an idea in their head and a group chat full of maybes — we saw exactly where we wanted Mesibash to be different:

Seamless from idea to door. Creating an event should feel like sending an invite, not filling out paperwork. On Mesibash you go from a blank page to a published event in minutes, and the same platform carries you all the way through: tickets, payments, guest list, and QR check-in at the door. No plugins to assemble, no spreadsheets on the side.

Genuinely free for hosts. No subscription, no listing fees, no "pro plan" hiding the features you actually need. You set the ticket price and receive every cent of it — guests pay a small processing fee at checkout, and free events are free for everyone. We refuse to be a tax on getting people together.

Flexible for any kind of gathering. Public or private. Free or ticketed. Morning, afternoon, or 2 a.m. A birthday brunch, a workshop, a rooftop show, a house party, a dinner with forty of your closest friends. Tiered pricing when you want it — early bird, regular, VIP — and invite-only events that reveal the address just to ticket holders. Your event, your rules; the platform bends to it.

Those choices weren't accidents. If we want more real gatherings to exist, the platform can't be the reason one doesn't.

What "mesibash" means to us

The name comes from mesiba — Hebrew for "party." We turned it into a verb, because that's the point: it's something you go do. Gather your people. Make it count.

And our measure of success isn't time spent in the app — it's the opposite. Mesibash works when you put your phone away: the tickets are handled, the door is handled, and the only thing left is the people in front of you.
